Comedy Central Rally to Restore Sanity

National Mall, Washington D.C.

October 30, 2010

TSI was contracted to develop a sustainability plan for the Rally which drew over 400,000 attendees to the National Mall on October 30, 2010. The Rally producers only had 1 month to plan the event and TSI was brought in two weeks into the process. The plan was successful and the Rally broke several records including the Metro's usage record for Saturday subway trips (attendees were encouraged to take the subway to/from the event). The waste diversion plan involved TSI's Eco Stations - 3-bin collection system (compost, recycling and waste) and a green team volunteer - placed throughout the event venue. TSI trained over 150 volunteers and also worked with the caterer to compost all kitchen prep waste.
