Project: Riverside Restorative Growthprint
Role: Economic Development Strategy, Stakeholder Relations and Community Outreach
The Riverside Restorative Growthprint (RRG) combines two plans: the Economic Prosperity Action Plan (RRG-EPAP) and the Climate Action Plan (RRG-CAP), which work in conjunction to spur entrepreneurship and smart growth while advancing the City of Riverside’s GHG emission reduction goals. The adoption of the RRG will result in actions to reduce GHG emissions that align with the City’s planning priorities and its vision of a future “green” economy based on sustainable businesses. The RRG-EPAP identifies the measures and strategies in the RRG-CAP with the greatest potential to drive local economic prosperity through clean-tech investment, entrepreneurship, and expansion of local green businesses.
TSI partnered with ESA and National CORE to develop a comprehensive plan to map out the City of Riverside's Climate Action Plan and tie GHG emission reduction efforts to economic development activities. TSI served as the project lead for the RRG-EPAP and conducted stakeholder outreach and engagement to ensure that the plan included feedback from various groups within the city limits and conducted an online crowdsourcing campaign to pull ideas from across the globe. This unique approach allowed Riverside to capture the best and most innovative ideas and roll them into a roadmap for future economic growth tied to environmental targets.
