Project: Sustainable Event Policy and Implementation (ISO 20121 and APEX/ASTM)
As an organization, the Specialty Coffee Association of America has always understood the importance of sustainability in everything they do. As part of a dedicated effort to make environmentally beneficial changes to their annual Exposition, SCAA selected TSI to develop a Sustainable Events Policy. To assist SCAA in the beginning stages of plan development, TSI hosted a Visioning Session at the SCAA corporate offices in Long Beach. This one-day session was key in producing fundamental themes for the organization’s sustainability goals. Based on the results of the visioning session, TSI composed a final Sustainable Events Policy for SCAA. This policy was developed in accordance with APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meeting Standards and ISO 20121:2012 Events Sustainability Management Systems.
